N'Dane
Summary
N'Dane is a world divided, the different races unable to live in harmony with each other. The Mense rule most of the world, humanoid beings that cover most of the planet, but are hunted by a monster race, Crebios. To defend themselves against the creatures a religion called the Luainity was formed. Drawing power from the moon the practitioners are able to wield magic that can defeat the Crebios- the only price being a blood sacrifice before the summoning of the power.
During one such ritual the Crebios being sacrificed broke free and fled to a nearby city, disguising itself as a Mense and trying to blend in with its surroundings. The Luainity leader sends a group of warriors to retrieve it while planning a new sacrifice that will defeat the Crebios for good, as well as purge the deteriorating Mense race.
A group of travelers set out to stop the religious sect leader, and bring the races of the planet together in an epic tale of defiance against the gods, and testing the boundaries of love while coming ever closer to the line separating light and dark and the bleak reality between.
Races
Mense - A large population of humanoids that are able to adapt and live in most environments easily and control most of the world.
Crebios - Shape shifters who take on the forms of Mense to deceive people so they can more easily eat/enslave them for their own use. The Crebios are hunted by Luainitans, a religion that protects Mense from them.
Cheriba/Cheribas - A small elfish and childish race that live isolated from the rest of the world, living in a large forests. They distrust other races and prefer to hide than act offensively.
Haara - A type of bird race that has two sets of arms, the top of which are actually wings that cover a pair of regular clawed arms beneath. They are normally war like and live away from Mense.
Elerate/Elerates - A race of elemental beings, who have power over their given element. The main elements are fire, water, earth and air, although other tribes exist. Each element has a unique appearance and culture that reflects their power.
Lunaren/Lunarens - A race of people who live on the second moon and are believed to be gods by Luainitans, although they lack any godlike qualities. Carefree and graceful, they have tails, large eyes, oddly shaped ears, as well as markings that run along their body according to gender. Males have horizontal marks while females have vertical markings.
Note
N'Dane is part of the NDAS. The idea behind N'Dane was that it would become one of a two part novel exchange- a first story and a sequel that would take place about twenty years after. Myself and J would each design the characters and story outline for one part and give it to the other author to be written. Due to time constraints and other unknowable issues this never actually happened, and I was left with the outline and characters for the first part of N'Dane hanging out on my computer. About now I'm figuring I'm going to go back and write it myself when I have time, but until then it's listed under the NDAS.
